Baccarat is a card game played at many casinos online as well as brick and mortar casinos. There are different versions of the game, but the most common in North America is Punto Banco which requires that players bet on whether they will win or the dealer will win. The goal is to have a hand closest to 9; however players, unless betting on their own hands every time don't need to worry about having the strongest hand since it's possible to bet on the dealer.
Punto Banco Baccarat is simply a game of chance, but there are still a number of beliefs in Strategy, that involve trying to recognize patterns to determine who will have the stronger hand. Some may work, others may not, but there's no harm in trying.
- Baccarat Strategy: Identifying patterns and streaks
Track the trends taking place with each hand using pencils and charts if at a brick and mortar casino, or create your own at home. Try to ride out a streak, betting on the dealer when he/she seems to have consistently strong hands. Sometimes a dealer has 5, 6, 7, or 8 wins in a row. Observe and try to determine these patterns so you can get in on a streak and get out before it ends.
- Baccarat Strategy: Don't bet right away
To get a feel for the shoe patterns taking place (i.e. whether they run on streaks of wins or losses or follow a choppy pattern with wins going to the banker, player, tie, player, banker etc) don't bet right away. In Baccarat, you can sit at a table and watch the patterns and trends to help you determine when and how to bet
- Baccarat Strategy: Remember there's no guarantee of a pattern
It's rare that shoes follow a consistent pattern that's constantly repeated. There is no logic to why patterns occur in Baccarat since cards are dealt totally at random. However, there's nothing to lose by observing noticeable patterns that take place and betting on them, when it's a game based almost entirely on luck anyways. Of course, that's not to say that people don't have specific mathematical theories as to why these things occur; but don't count on anything, just observe and try your luck!
- Baccarat Strategy: Remember that sometimes it will always seem like you place the wrong bet
It's common for players in Baccarat to think that they've recognized a streak, only to bet on Player time and time again while it comes up Banker. Then once they change their bet to Banker their luck goes the other way; and that's the major thing to remember, it's a game of luck!
- Baccarat Strategy: Follow the "Rule of Three"
Bet on the streak or don't bet at all. If you place one bet on the streak and it doesn't work out, you only lose one bet, but if you try to be stubborn and stick with your bet, it won't be long until you lose everything!
Just about any pattern can take place in Baccarat, after all, it's a game based on cards that are distributed at random. Just pay close attention, mark them down and eventually you'll recognize some of the following patterns:
P-P-B-P-P-B-P-P-B-T-P-P-B-B-P-P-B-T-P-P-B P-P-P-B-T-P-P-P-P-P-B-B-P-P-P-P-B P-P-B-B-P-P-B-B-B-P-P-B-P-T-P-B-B-B-P-P B-P-B-P-B-P-B-P-B-P-B-B-P-P-B-B-P-P
Patterns in Baccarat might repeat, or they might not, but since there's so much uncertainty involved and a need to be observant to determine how to bet, there's a good reason that this is a game that's so popular with the high-rollers, and those who are really truly willing to gamble!
