Ozzy Osbourne offers ₤100,000 reward for family jewels

England, Nov 24 — Rock star Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon Osbourne have offered a ₤100,000 reward to anyone who catches the thieves — who Ozzy fought, but could not prevent from getting away — who stole ₤2 million worth of jewels from their country house.

Ozzy Osbourne, a man who once bit the heads off bats on stage for a living, wrestled the burglars after the rock star and wife Sharon Osbourne were awoken by the robbery at their mansion in England.

In their press conference yesterday, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, offered up to ₤100,000 for any information leading to the recovery of their burgled baubles, bangles and beads. Among the stolen valuables were Sharon's diamond wedding ring and handmade wedding bands, which were swiped off her nightstand.

I always take them off and put them beside my bed and that's where they were, right beside me,'' she explained.

The thieves also made off with a pearl necklace, a 24-carat flawless sapphire ring known as the “Swimming Pool,” a diamond daisy chain necklace that was a 20th anniversary present and a Franck Muller watch.

Ozzy Osbourne’s unexpected guests just before dawn on Monday were two burglars who used a ladder to enter the veteran rocker's Buckinghamshire home and after a scuffle between Ozzy, the former Black Sabbath frontman, and one of the burglars, made off with a large amount of jewellery worth around ₤1 million.

The Sun reported: “Ozzy had one of the burglars in a headlock but the burglar broke free and jumped out of a first-floor window.”

"He was a big, strong man - but at one point I thought I could kill him to stop him hurting Sharon. But then I just let him drop,"

"It was terrifying. I was looking to see if he had a knife. I can't get his staring eyes out of my mind" said Ozzy.

The burglars reportedly made off with $1.8 million worth in jewellery, including two gold wedding rings and a 24-carat sapphire ring.

Ozzy Osbourne, 55, has enjoyed renewed celebrity in Britain and the US through the MTV reality show based around his family life in Los Angeles.

He had expressed fears he might not perform on stage again after he was badly injured in a quad bike accident on his Buckinghamshire estate in December 2003.

Wife Sharon is currently enjoying success as judge on the X-Factor talent show alongside Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.
