World Poker Tour to reach Caribbean and Latin American viewers
Discovery's ‘Travel and Adventure’ disclosed the agreement with WPT Enterprises Inc to extent poker show over the Caribbean and Latin America. The new contract, fuelled with successful WPT show in the U.S. aired on Discovery's Travel Channel, will strengthen the relationship of the companies.
So that, poker fans from 57 countries will have a chance to watch the new WPT season that kicks off March 3rd 2005. According to Pokernews.info, the Latin American region will enrich the WPT audience with ten million viewers. In the United States the WPT will broadcast 16 new televised events from around the world.
Steve Lipscomb, President of WPT said: "This agreement with Discovery more than triples our previous distribution and expands our relationship with this visionary company. Adding Latin America and the Caribbean to our portfolio will give the World Poker Tour a chance to grow new fans among an enormous potential audience. This addition truly enables us to extend our brand globally.”
The WPT is to cover such countries as Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Peru, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay etc.
