Sean Connery bets on ‘terror’ to drive neighbours from their Manhattan home

Sean Connery’s neighbours claim that ‘rude, foul-mouthed’, ‘fat old man’ “Sir” tried to bully them out of the Manhattan building they share.   It seems that a quasi-sensational $30-million+ lawsuit against 74-year-old UK actor Sean Connery by Dr. Burton Sultan, a prominent ophthalmologist and Connery’s neighbour, is getting more and more intense.

Dr. Sultan insists, that Connery along with his ‘clan’ are conducting a 'terror' campaign to force his neighbours to move out of his own property in Manhattan, New York. Sultan, who owns the four floors beneath the two floors of Stephane, Connery's son, claims his living situation is a daily "circus." As GamblingGates.com and RealEstateGates.com reported Wednesday, the court claim reports that ‘the cinematic James Bond’ is fond of loud music and feels OK about noise caused by renovation works full of foul fumes, water leaks and a rat infestation.  Sultan also blames the ‘Sir’ for being rude towards the neighbours. According to Sultan’s attorney Thomas Engel, "the harassment and destruction to the home of Dr. Burton Sultan have been going on a long time." Sultan and his wife claim Sean Connery is a "real-life bully who ignores the norms of neighbourliness and decency."  "Connery has become the very ogre and villain whom he is shown to combat and subdue onscreen," the Sultans stated.The lawsuit accuses Sean and Stephane Connery of trying to force them out of their home in order to buy the Sultans' share of the house. The claim say that Connery's children, his lawyer, and companies and individuals colluded in a ‘terror’ campaign to damage the house, drive its price down and force the Sultans to sell their home for a bargain — all because Stephane Connery could not sell his two floors of the building.The Sultans allege that Stephane and his wife did not want to raise their children in the city. They placed ads for their property and started looking for homes in the suburbs north of the city.The couple finally found a home in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., where they now reside, but no buyers for the condominium, according to the suit.Lynn, the Connerys' lawyer, is accused of filing a series of frivolous lawsuits. A portion of a letter Lynn wrote was mistakenly sent to the Sultans, according to the suit."I think if we tie [Sultan] up him in several lawsuits, hopefully this will either permanently subdue him, or drive him out of the building," Lynn wrote, according to the claim.

Sultan's pregnant daughter was living in the house when they allege the Connerys ordered a chimney company to flush soot and ash down the chimney, ruining a priceless collection of Victorian wicker furniture.When the company came in to clean the area, they stole the family's digital camera that had been used to document the damage, the Sultans allege.

Sultan claims that his daughter was demeaned by a Connery who was "no longer the 'sexiest man alive' portrayed in the tabloid."

"Connery's appearance and behavior was that of a rude, foul-mouthed, fat old man," the suit claims.

The Sultans were forced to leave their apartment in November 2001 and have not come back so far.
