E! Entertainment Network sets up Texas Hold'em show
E! Entertainment Network has jumped on the gambling bandwagon by launching a new program dedicated to poker gaming. E! Hollywood Hold 'Em, hosted by poker guru and WPT Champion Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, takes its viewers into the home of a celebrity host, who invites other celebrities and their friends to arrange a poker tournament.
The opening episode showed the home of "That 70s Show" star Laura Prepon, who plays Donna on the Fox network series, reported PokerNews.com. The program started with Prepon setting a tour around the house that she shares with her boyfriend,"Malcolm In The Middle" actor Chris Masterson. As the poker game started, Laak came up as the dealer for the home game, which provided $10,000 to the player who left standing. The poker players, competing for the generous prize, were Prepon's boyfriend Chris, his brother and her fellow "That 70s Show" star Danny Masterson, and two of their usual non-celebrity friends. The most skilful player appeared to be Danny Masterso.
The new series will see a line-up of other celebrities including Macaulay Culkin, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderama ("That 70s Show"), Sara Rue ("Less Than Perfect") and Shannon Elizabeth. The program will be heavily promoted on March 22nd on a special event in Los Angeles. The poker celebrities such as "Mad TV" Will Sasso, "Species" and "SHESpies" star Natasha Henstridge, "Jay and Silent Bob", Jason Mewes, and Lou Diamond Phillips will participate in the poker tournament at the Geisha House.
