BTK serial killer would bind, torture and kill
Dennis Rader BTK case inspires fear
WICHITA - Dennis Rader, the BTK serial killer, pled guilty on Monday in 10 murders ranging from 1974 to 1991. The murderer committed his crimes in a similar manner. Every time Rader would bind his victims, torture them and kill slowly after that. To take his place on serial killers list of America, he named himself a BTK serial killer, reasoning from his fashion to bind, torture and kill.
After committing the string of murders from 1974 to 1991, Dennis Rader skulked. Only last year, the serial killer sent some news having mailed a letter to the local Wichita Eagle newspaper. In the letter, Rader confessed to murdering a young female in 1986 and disclosed the details. After that Dennis Rader taunted authorities and the media with letters and packages he sent them over several years, some with before-and-after photos of the victims, CNN said Tuesday. Denis Rader, 60, is married and has two children. He was quite a well-known person in Park City. For a long time hed been a compliance supervisor in charge of animal control, nuisances, inoperable vehicles and general code compliance. He was also president of his Lutheran church council. At the court Rader said the murders served to satisfy his sexual fantasies, according to AP. In his emotionless speech, the BTK serial killer described how he used his hit kit of a gun, rope, handcuffs and a sticky tape. Projects, thats how Rader called the killings, while the victims were called targets. The killer cannot be sentenced to death, as the crimes had been committed before they adopted capital punishment as the extreme penalty in Kansas. However, Dennis Rader is likely to be condemned to imprisonment for life, while under Kansas law Rader can be sentenced to life in prison for each charge, CNN reported. The verdict will be given on August 17.
