The European Tour finally reaches the British Isles this week, and with the winners of no fewer than 13 Majors in the line-up, as well as past winners Darren Clarke and Colin Montgomerie, there is a quality look to the field. The new slim-lined Clarke will be aiming to bag his third title here, and with two high finishes in the States already this year he looks as good as, if not better than ever. He doesn’t win as often as he should, however, and a better price can be found on the likes of Paul Casey and Ian Poulter. Casey excelled with his 6th place in the Masters, and he looks likely to have a good year now that he has added consistency to his raw talent. He should make the frame at least, along with Poulter who finished runner-up here last year, and who was spotted hitting the ball sweetly in last week’s Italian Open only to be let down by his putting.
