Virginia Lottery reports on record profit
Virginia Lottery announced a record profit for the third consecutive year, generating $400 million. According to Casinocitytimes.com, officials said that this figure was the largest since the lottery's inception 16 years ago.
Penelope W. Kyle, the lottery's executive director, celebrating the companys success, presenting a large ceremonial check for $408 million to Gov. Mark R. Warner at a news conference at Virginia Lottery Headquarters.
Because of the company's gambling nature, it always faces tough resistance. But this time it has a substantial defence. The Virginia Constitution requires the state to use the money for public schools.
