Usher holds Billboard’s awards as Britney embraces … small dog
R&B star Usher, whose album Confessions was sold more than one million copies in its debut week, collected 11 Billboard awards, the prestigious music awards in the US. Lady Luck seems not to betray him as he grabbed eight Grammy nominations just few days ago.
The awards were held at the hotel and casino MGM Grand in Las Vegas, hosted by American Idol TV show presenter Ryan Seacrest. The outcomes of the event was easy were rather easy to predict since the prizes are awarded due to the performance of the songs in music industry trade publication Billboard's weekly music charts.
So that, the last night of the show was also a good for another R&B artist, Alicia Keys, who took seven awards, while triple Grammy winners OutKast were named group of the year. Kanye West, who has been nominated for 10 Grammys was also lucky enough, taking four awards, including rap artist of the year.
Usher,26, was also dominating in such categories as artist of the year, album of the year, and Hot 100 single of the year for "Yeah!" (featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris).
"It's been about 10 years since we started, and we knew this would happen. We don't put out a record without a number one record, do we?" Usher told Reuters.
The public attention was absorbed not with the awarding ceremony only but also with the new avatar of Britney Spears. The scandalous pop-diva turned up to the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas with husband Kevin Federline and made an impression of a very devoted family woman. According to some reports, she is now enthusiastic to have a baby. But at the moment Britney, who has just recently celebrated her 23rd birthday, made a substitute for her own child with a very small dog that she brought to MGM-sheltered event.
