Vijay Singh goes for an amazing tenth Tour win in this season ending event, limited to the top-30 US Tour money winners
US Tour Championship, East Lake GC, Atlanta, GA
Vijay Singh goes for an amazing tenth Tour win in this season ending event, limited to the top-30 US Tour money winners, and even at 5/2 is a must for any staking plans this week. With six victories and a second in his last eight starts, it is difficult to see who is going to stop the practice-makes-perfect Fijian, who stands head and shoulders above everybody else in the line-up. Tiger Woods is making his first start as a married man and could be inspired, but his two finishes of worse than 20th at East Lake do not inspire any confidence, particularly at the 13/2.
Ernie Els is a more logical danger, but the value could lie with David Toms at 22/1, who is very much at home in Georgia - his one Major victory (the 2001USPGA) came not too many miles away at the Atlanta Athletic Club. All in all he has nine top-ten finishes in the State, including a course third two years ago, and comes here with a fourth and sixth from his last two outings. Last years win for Chad Campbell was the first for a player making his debut in the event, and the best of this weeks seven first-timers could be Tour rookie Zach Johnson who scored his breakthrough win at the Bell South Classic, in Georgia. Bet In-Play throughout the four days of this tournament, including Outright Winner and Round Leader.
Bet365.com selections: Vijay Singh @ 5/2, Davis Toms @ 20/1, Zach Johnson @ 50/1 (Each-way ¼ odds 1.2.3.4.).
