The Plaza Hotel & Casino is in the midst of the Plaza Ultimate Poker Challenge, a 26-week televised series of $1,000 + $60 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournaments, culminating in a final event that will be played for millions, about.com announced.

Live play is well underway and is ongoing through Sunday, Oct. 31. There are 23 preliminary events, each starting at noon. The  winner of each preliminary event qualifies for the semifinals.

Points are awarded for places 2 through 28, with the top 100 point-winners also advancing to the semifinals. These are the only two ways to make it to the semifinals; you can't buy into them unlike the preliminary events.
