First regional mobile lottery may be launched in UK
The City of Manchester believes it will manage to organize the UKs first ever-regional mobile lottery in 2005. Million-2-1, a responsible lottery manager, wants to set up ten regional mobile lotteries in the near future and expand the activities to 50 regional lotteries, operating throughout the UK, within five years. According to Onlinecasinonews.com, the initiative in considered to generate £100m for local charities.
Chris Sheffield, founder and Chief Executive of Million-2-1, who conceived the idea of a local lottery for local people, says this new gambling initiative will set up a unique lottery "to provide people with the opportunity to win significant amounts of money and invest in their local community at the sme time".
I am delighted be launching the UKs first mobile lottery in my home town, Manchester. Its anticipated that the Manchester lottery will give £1 million to local good causes in its first year, and I expect this figure to increase year on year as more and more people get involved, Chris Sheffield said. Each lottery will transfer at least 35% of its revenue to smaller local charities that have received secure grants from the UK National Lottery.
In Million-2-1s opinion, its mobile technology and registration process will provide the safest lottery platform in the UK. They say, players will be limited to ten £1 plays per week, and their credentials and card registration will be examined properly by the company.
