U2 plan North America tour in September – December
Bono, long-time front man of Irish U2, rock idol and social activist, is one of a few people nominated for the World Bank presidency, to succeed current World Bank president James Wolfensohn, who is stepping down from the position on June 1.
I suppose I could tell you about some of the people I've met in the last year. There's the powerful ones - politicians, business men, bankers - with that look in their eye, a kind of wary recognition, U2s official Web site www.u2.com cited Bono as saying. Then there's the powerless ones, dying, sick, starving in vast numbers, silent, compliant. I can't begin to describe the look in their eyes. But it's a habit I have, looking people in the eye, and it gets me into a lot of trouble...
In the meanwhile, the official web site of U2 announced the dates of the groups North America tour from Septwember 12 through December 19, 2005. U2 are planning to return to North America for a series of night stands in major cities from Toronto, Ottawa and Boston to Los Angeles and Portland.

Imagine what can happen if Bono gets the new job as World Bank President after June 1? The Bank probably will succeed, at least in PR, but U2 and Bonos tour will be ruined
