PokerStars.com holds $4 mln tournament
PokerStars.com, a Costa Rica-based online gambling operator, arranges the worlds largest online poker tournament this week at its website. The company announces that this year players will compete for a record $4 million in prize money.
According to Onlinecasinonews.com, the Online Poker World Championship, scheduled to be run until August 8th, will introduce twelve events leading to the final No Limit Holdem tournament.
Poker is one of the hottest trends in the world right now. Poker players from anywhere in the world can try their hand in PokerStars' World Championship of Online Poker and leave with the largest cash prizes ever won online, said Lee Jones, PokerStars Poker Room Manager, who is a renowned poker author as well.
Lee Jones added: Since we offer satellites for these events for as little as $3, anyone has a chance to win. In fact, through our Frequent Player Point program, we're giving away more than half a million dollars in free entries, so the next huge winner could get there for free.
Players, who omitted the opportunity to qualify for free, may get $200 buy-ins for the early events, and $2,500 entry for the main Hold em event. The gambling company states that prize pools range from $100,000 to $1.2 million.
