One of the longest rivals in the south takes place at the Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday
NCAAF - Georgia @ Auburn
One of the longest rivals in the south takes place at the Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, and this is clearly one of the biggest ever here due to the high stakes involved, and coming as it does so deep into the season. A victory by third-ranked Auburn over No. 8 Georgia would leave the Tigers in a strong position to challenge for the national championship, while a win for Georgia would be a boost to their hopes of making a Bowl Championship Series game.
A loss effectively ends that chance. The Tigers (9-0, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) have looked the real deal with an offense that's averaging 39 points per game over the last six and a defense that has only allowed more than 14 points once. Their front seven has been dominant against the run leading the SEC allowing a mere 102 yards per game. They are our strong favourites to win the game, but Georgia (8-1, 6-1) hasnt gone 15-1 in true road games over a four-year spell without doing something right, and this veteran team is better equipped than ever to pull off a major victory. The Auburn offense may be clicking on all cylinders but the Bulldog defense should be more than up to the task. Georgias experience will be just enough to win a classic. Pick: Georgia (+4.0) @ 10/11/Under 44.5 @ 10/11.
