Israel targets Ukrainian lottery market
The Israeli company Gilat Satellite Networks, in the business of providing satellite solutions, unveiled its contract with the Ukrainian National Lottery without disclosing its value. The company is to provide its customer with a satellite-based VSAT network for immediate delivery. According to Globes.co.il, Gilats network will serve lottery kiosks across the country.
The Ukrainian gambling market has promising potential, and is experiencing rapid growth. So far, the Ukrainian National Lottery operates a constantly expanding network of more than 2,400 lottery kiosks across the country and more that 3 million people play their game. To improving its lottery framework, the company has decided to use satellite technology and to develop its sites based on terrestrial communication networks.
"We are pleased to be working with Gilat after having received strong recommendations from customers who have been working with Gilat technology for many years. We chose to move towards a satellite-based VSAT solution for many of our sites, as it is a more cost effective solution, quicker to deploy and more secure, especially for remote locations," said Ukrainian National Lottery general director Alex Kozulin.
Gilat associate VP sales for CIS Arie Rozichner commented, "The lottery and gaming market holds a very large potential for Gilat around the world and in this part of the world especially. Just last year we deployed an important network for the gaming company Jackpot and management company Stec.com, supporting on-line gaming sites throughout the Russian Federation."
Gilat, which has a strong representative network throughout the world, has deployed more than 25,000 VSAT terminals for lottery applications worldwide.
