Incredible ‘Incredibles’ box-offices ‘Polar Express’
It was another incredible weekend for The Incredibles in the battle of computer-animated movies, the challenge to Disney-Pixar's The Incredibles by Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis' The Polar Express (Warner Bros.) proved no match at all.
The Disney-Pixar Incredibles animated feature film, about a family of superheroes took an estimated box office $51 million over the weekend at North American theatres, well ahead of the just released Hanks-Zemeckis animated Christmas movie The Polar Express which took just $23.5 million (estimated).
The two-week-old, critically lauded Incredibles, did nearly double the business of the Warner Bros. expensive $270 million newcomer Polar Express, which drew bipolar reviews from critics. In its first 10 days, The Incredibles has made an estimated $144.1 million.
