Denver $100m jackpot sets world record
One of the worlds largest lottery prizes was settled Saturday night by Powerball in Denver.
According to Associated Press, the jackpot is approaching the $100 million level and now it is already estimated at $97 million. The amount could increase depending on the number of tickets sold.
This $100m landmark jackpot is the richest Powerball prize since May 9, when the jackpot paid in early installments was $213.2 million. Steven and Kristine White of New Jersey, who managed to purchase a winning ticket in Pennsylvania and find the cash option, received more than $82.6 million after taxes.
According to the reports, Saturday's cash value is estimated to be worth $52.5 million.
Powerball, a lottery game, is provided in 27 states, including Colorado, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
