Blue Square to launch new online casino, poker room in June

Blue Square is preparing the launch of a new online casino and poker room in June. According to Andy Harris, head of interactive gaming at Blue Square, the launch has been scheduled for mid-June, "but it may be a bit earlier as we'll probably have a soft launch for poker," the www.onlinecasinonews.com website reported.

The new operations will put Blue Square in direct competition with its sister company HardRockCasino.com, also owned by the Rank Corporation. Harris told NewMediaZero today that there wouldn't be any cross-promotion between the two Rank-owned casinos, as "Blue Square is keen to concentrate on its own existing user base and brand."

The bookmaker is also in the process of creating new fixed-odds games to compliment its existing two games – Aces High and Lucky Squares. "We've got two or three that have gone through the development cycle. We're hoping to launch several new games by the end of the year," said Harris.
