Bingo, Mandy!
London, Nov. 29 Despite her refusal to use silly bingo lingo, Mandy Gorgan, 36, of Coalville, Leicestershire was crowned Britain's first female top bingo caller last night after beating four male callers at a bingo competition in north-west London.
The mother-of-four bingo winner, who works at her local Flutters club, said: "You can't mess around with silly lingo, not when there are such large sums of money at stake." Mandy Gorgan added bingo is big business these days and its important that customers can concentrate on your voice.
After winning the top bingo title at an event at the Beacon Bingo Club in Cricklewood, Mandy will be showing off her skills at Funcoast Casino in Las Vegas as part of her prize.
Of bingo language such as little ducks, legs eleven, and two old fat ladies, Mrs. Gordon said "The old language of the working men's clubs went out years ago.
The competition was organised by the National Bingo Game Association.
It is the 10th year the competition has been held and the first time it has been won by a woman.
