Freeverse releases Big Bang Board Games
New York-based entertainment software developer Freeverse Software released a collection of classic board games updated for the Mac, under the trademark Big Bang.
According to Macworld.com, Big Bang Board Games will allow users to play such games as Backgammon, Checkers, Reversi, Tic-Tac-Toe, Mancala and 4-In-A-Row along with the previously launched Big Bang Chess. All the Big Bang games integrate with Apple's iLife software enabling gamers to play and manage iTunes music in the games, use Mail and Address Book to play games by e-mail. In addition, players will be able to invite iChat friends to play online, use Freeverse's own GameSmith matching service to find other opponents as well. iSight webcam will also allow customers to share pictures with others.
The previously launched game Big Bang Chess, which won two Apple Design Awards at the Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this year, now has some new features after the recent changes. The developer added a proxy server for master level play and extended the iSight integration. GameSmith support and the incorporated plug-in architecture now allows to manage opponents and boards.
The company has already set out demos of the individual games and offered the entire collection for US$24.95. The product is to be distributed at Apple retail stores and other locations very soon.
