If you follow the World Series of Poker (WSOP) you will know that the final nine competitors have now been announced. Better news is that the American sports network ESPN is going to be broadcasting four of the remaining events.
ESPN have stated that they will begin their coverage this Tuesday with a two hour review of the $40,000 buy in no limit hold’em tournament from 8pm New York time. This tournament was held to commemorate WSOP’s 40th anniversary.
On Tuesday the 4th August ESPN will be broadcasting all of the action live from the WSOP Champions Invitational which will start at 8pm. This is a two hour programme that will also have Norman Chad and Lon McEachern commentating. They will even include the presentation of the Binion Cup and a new car.
On August 11th ESPN will be airing the Ante Up For Africa charity tournament which again will be a two hour special starting at 8pm. This is the very first time that this tournament has been featured and viewers are in for a real treat as they get to watch some top celebrities including Adam Sandler, Brad Garrett, Charles Barkley, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Ray Romano share the poker tables with some of the best poker players in the world.
From the 18th August ESPN will be broadcasting from 8pm with all the action from the WSOP’s main event. This will start with the coverage of the four day one competitions and the coverage will continue every Tuesday up until the 15th September when the events from Day TwoA will be aired. Day TwoB will be on the 22nd of September and all the action will continue until November 3rd when Day Eight will air.
On November 7th the main event will take place in Las Vegas with the nine remaining players and the final two will go head to head on November 10th. ESPN will be running a 1 hour preview show on the nine finalists which will be followed by 2 hours of final table action where the winner will be chosen.
