Rome Casino have been telling their players that they can now use their American Express card to deposit and withdraw funds from their online casino. Well the credit card firm American Express have released a statement that rubbishes this claim. Their statement clarifies their position when it comes to processing payments from online gambling websites after they discovered that a number of posts about what Rome Casino was promising their players.

Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communication for American Express has hit back and rubbished Rome Casino’s claim and this has also been followed with a legal notification that Rome Casino have to remove their credit card logo from their website. She further stated that it is a long standing policy that American Express cards cannot be accepted for gambling either online or offline and that Rome Casino is no exception.

American Express have also gone on to say that any merchant that is found to be in violation of this policy will be terminated immediately from card acceptance. American Express have sent legal notification to Rome Casino stating that they are not authorised to accept the American Express card nor are they authorised to use their marks on their website.

After reading this I can bet that many of you are weary about even registering with the Rome Casino website. I know I am. If they can lie about their deposit and withdrawal methods what else can they be telling fibs about? I guess this could mean the end of their online casino website but only time will tell how they get out of this one. I know that for me personally I wouldn’t be able to trust this online casino not after this lie, how do you know that they aren’t a fraudulent company only after your financial details? I guess you really don’t.
