In today’s post I want to tell you about speed or turbo tournaments that are available on some of the online poker websites. Speed tournaments are a great way to get double your fun in half the time of normal tournaments. When looking at these online speed poker tournaments the blinds increase every three minutes and in the turbo tournaments the blinds increase every minute. These two online poker tournaments offer its players some of the fastest most exciting tournament action available and they are great when you don’t have hours to play.

The speed and turbo online poker tournaments are available in both single and multi-table tournaments so there is really something to suit everyone.

In order to finish the series on online poker tournaments there is one other tournament that I want to mention and this is the Rebuy tournament. If you happen to make a mistake at the start of a tournament you can use the Rebuy tournaments to stay in the game. With the rebuy tournaments you can buy additional chips as long as you are within a certain period of the tournament.

As you can see, when it comes to online poker tournaments there are plenty of options to choose from and if you do happen to lose all your chips in the early stages of the game then a rebuy tournament will allow you to keep playing.

That’s it for online poker tournaments. Tomorrow’s post is all about online poker tips.

Until then,

In today’s post I want to talk about multi-table online poker tournaments. These are said to be the ultimate when it comes to tournament experiences. In these online poker tournaments you get to play against hundreds of different players for a share of the winning prize pool. Buy-ins for these tournaments can also start as low as 10c and go as high as $200.

Multi-table tournaments can have up to 999 players and they mirror the way real world poker tournaments are played. Each of the multi-table tournaments will have a set start time and day and players register in advance to play. When you register you need to pay your buy-in fee and a 10% registration fee so if you are playing in a $1 tournament you would end up paying $1.10.

When the tournament starts each player will have the same number of chips and will be assigned a random seat at a random table. The number of tables available is a reflection of the number of players registered and each table sits 9. As the tournament progress players will get knocked out and some of the tables will be closed. When this happens players are reseated to ensure that the tables remain balanced. Eventually you will end up with just 9 players at the final table where they will match their wits against each other until one person ends up with all the chips.

One of the great things about online poker multi-table tournaments is that the buy-ins are used to form a prize pool and everyone is playing for a share of this. This pool is determined by the amount of the buy-in fee and the number of players playing. If we use a $10 buy-in fee with 450 players taking part then the prize pool will be $4,500. The winner will take home approximately $1,200 and the runner up will get $765. Not bad really when you think about it.

In tomorrow’s post we will talk about satellite tournaments.

When it comes to online poker there are a number of different tournaments that you can play in. In this post I will be discussing the single table tournaments and giving you some information about them.
A single table tournament is an online poker tournament that has nine players, one table, and one goal. These single table tournaments are known as fill and go tournaments and you can join in these tournaments with buy-ins that are as low as just 10 cents. Beware though some of these tournaments can have some very serious buy-ins that can go as high as $500.

Single table tournaments use one table and nine players. There is no scheduled start time so as soon as nine players have joined the table the tournament will begin. The great thing about these tournaments is that there is no hanging around you just log in and join the next tournament. Once one single table tournament starts another one opens up for registration so there is always one to join when you log into your online gambling website.

The rules for the single table tournament is the same as most tournaments in that each player pays the buy-in fee and gets an equal number of chips that they can play with. The tournament starts and continues until one player has won all the chips on the table. The prize pool in some tournaments is often divided between the top three players. The winner takes 50% of the prize money, second place takes 30%, and third place takes 20%.

Online poker tournaments are fun and exciting and when the prize fund is split between the top three players it gives you a better chance at winning some cash and if you are playing in one of the high buy-in tournaments that could mean some serious money even if you do come in third place.

That’s it for the single table tournament. In tomorrow’s post we will take a look at the multi-table tournaments and what they have to offer.

In today’s post I want to discuss some Texas holdem terms that all players should be familiar with.  By now you know about placing bets and the basic rules for playing this game but without knowledge of the terms that are used this might all be useless when it comes to playing online poker.

Online Poker Terms

Buy-in:  This term relates to the minimum chip value that is required to play at the table.  It is quite normal for the minimum chip value to be at least 10 times higher than the highest stake for that game.  This ensures that players have enough chips to last the game.

Blind:  This term refers to the bets which are the small blind and the big blind.  These are what are used to put money into play.  The blinds are mandatory bets and they rotate around the table.

Small Blind:  This is the bet amount that the player to the left of the dealer must make.

Big Blind:  If you are playing online poker that requires money being put into play the big blind is generally equal to the lower amount of the stakes required for the game.  When playing the big blind follows the small blind and is put up by the player immediately left of the dealer.

Pot:  This is the total amount of chips that are available to win in any given hand.

Freeroll:  This online poker term applies to online poker tournaments where the entry fee, the stakes, or both are waived.

These are the main terms that you will need to know and understand if you want to play online Texas holdem poker.

In tomorrow’s post we will move on to discuss online poker tables and the single table tournament and the multi table tournament.

Until next time,

In this post I want to take about playing the hand when it comes to online poker.  With Texas holdem poker play begins with each player being dealt two cards face down.  These cards are called hole cards or pocket cards.  These two cards are the only cards that each player will receive individually and is it quite common that these cards only be revealed at the showdown.  This is what makes Texas holdem a closed poker game.

The hand begins with what is called a “pre-flop” betting round and this starts with the player to the left of the big blind or the player to the left of the dealer.  It then continues clockwise and the betting will continue until every player has either folded, put in all of their chips, or matched the amount put in by all the other active players.

After this round and assuming that at least two players remain the dealer will then deal a flop which is three face up cards.  This is then followed by a second betting round and this round starts with the player to the dealers left and continues clockwise.  After this round ends a single card often called the turn or fourth street card is dealt and then the third betting round begins.  A final single card called the river or fifth street will then be dealt followed by a fourth round of betting and then the showdown if needed.

The Texas Holdem Showdown

If you are playing texas holdem and you bet and all of the other players fold you will win the pot and you won’t have to show your hole cards.  If two or more players remain after the final betting round then you will have what is called a showdown.  In the showdown you will be required to play the best five card hand that you can make from the seven cards which are the five cards on the table and your two hole cards.

You can use both of your hold cards, one of them, or none at all, to make up your final five card hand.  If the five cards on the table make up your best hand then this is known as playing the board and you can’t win the pot but you can hope to split it if the other person is in the same boat.

If more than one person has the best hand then the pot is split equally.  In holdem the cards numerical rank is the most important as the suit values are irrelevant in this game.

So there you have it how to play your cards and what a holdem showdown is.  Tomorrow we will move on and discuss some Texas holdem terms that every player should be familiar with.

Until next time,

When it comes to online gambling, the most popular of all the games has to be online poker.  This series of articles focuses on the online poker game called Texas holdem and assumes that you are familiar with the general game and rules of poker and poker hands.

The objective of Texas holdem is to win pots.  A pot is the sum of money that has been bet by the players who are playing in this hand.  You can win the pot in two ways: one is by what is called a showdown and this is where you form the best five card poker hand out of the seven cards available or you bet against the other players and cause them to fold.

When it comes to betting in Texas holdem online poker a standard game with blind bets is normally what is played and this game will use big and small blind bets.  Antes can also be used in addition to the blinds and this is particularly common in the later stages of the tournament play.  A dealer button is used to represent the player who is in the dealer position and the button will rotate clockwise after each hand and this in turn changes the position of the dealer and the blinds.

The small blind will be placed by the player to the left of the dealer and this amount is usually equal to half of the big blind.  The big blind which is posted by the player to the left of the small blind is usually equal to the minimum bet allowed in the online poker game.  If you are playing tournament poker the blind/ante structure will increase as the tournament progresses.

When there are only two players remaining in the tournament special head to head rules are then enforced and the blinds are different.  The dealer will post the small blind and the other player will place the big blind.

There are three common variations of holdem and these are limit holdem, no-limit holdem, and pot limit holdem.  Limit holdem has always been the most popular and in this variation bets and raises during the first two rounds must be equal to the big blind.  In the next two rounds bets and raises must be equal to twice the big blind.

That’s it for this first post and hopefully you now know about placing bets in holdem poker.  Tomorrows post will talk about playing your hand in holdem poker.

Until then,

If you want to be successful with online gambling then you need to play things safe. The first thing to do is to check your eligibility when you are choosing the online casino you want to play at. The American government has passed a new online gambling law that prevents certain people in certain states from gambling online. If you are planning on joining an online casino and you live in Europe then you also need to check what the online gambling laws are in your country. If an online gambling website allows you to play or gamble and you are not eligible then they are breaking the law.

Remember whatever online gambling you take part in whether it’s at an online casino, playing online poker, or placing a bet on the next big football match or sporting event you need to treat it as a fun and entertaining part time. Online gambling should never be treated like a get rich quick scheme. You need to remember the rules of online gambling at all times and never bet more than you can afford. Most importantly, have fun.

If you want to know where the biggest money is won in online gambling then I have to tell you it is through slot machine games. These online slots games are extremely popular and many have great progressive jackpots to be won. These progressive jackpots can go really high too and I remember playing for one that was 135,000 Euro. Unfortunately I didn’t win it but the person who did was really lucky and I’m sure they had a great time spending their winnings too.

In tomorrow post we will talk more about the popular online slot machine games and I will give you a list of the most popular games.

Online gambling is something that many people choose to do and the internet has made this so much easier with the introduction of online casinos, online poker rooms, online bingo websites, and online sports betting websites. All you have to do is decide which one suits you the best.

There are some things that you need to look for when making your decision on which online gambling website to join and I have listed these below.

The first thing that you need to do is make sure that the online gambling website you choose is licensed. If you are looking at an online casino then you should make sure that it is regulated. Some of the major licensees for online casinos are Gibralter, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, and Antigua.

Next you need to ensure that the online casino is actually a registered company with the government that they reside in. You should make sure that their website includes an address for where they are based and that they have offices that you can call. It is so easy to be fooled online so be sure to check them out.

You should also check that the software that the online gambling website is using is genuine as there are a number of fraudulent websites that used software that is rigged to take your money. There are three excellent casino software providers and these are Microgaming, Playtech, and Cryptoloic. These software providers are legitimate and can be trusted.

If you follow this advice you are sure to find a reliable online gambling website that you can trust. We will cover the gambling software in full in future posts too.

If you are interested in online gambling then the first thing you need to know is what games are available. There are so many different games but these are broken into a number of categories which include Blackjack, Video Poker, Roulette, and Slots.

Blackjack is probably the oldest casino game and is very popular in online casinos. Blackjack is easy to play and the rules are very simple to understand. If blackjack is a game you want to play then you will need to find an online gambling website and create an account.

Video poker is a combination of the traditional video poker game and the slots game. On online gambling websites this game will run on an automatic system and the program will work on and offline. Some people would say that video poker is the best game to play and there are a variety of different video poker games too which we will explore further in later posts.

Slots are next and these are by far the most popular online gambling games. You do need to know the rules and regulations before you play and they are available in five and three reels.

Roulette which I am sure you’ve heard of is the easiest of all online gambling games to play. The roulette wheel in online casinos is similar to that of real casinos. The wheel has 38 pockets and there are also two different types of wheels in online roulette.

These are the main games on online gambling websites that are classed as online casinos. If you are into sport there are also online sports gambling websites where you can bet on horses and sports events. I will cover these particular online gambling websites in a later post. For today I just wanted to give you an idea of the types of games you can play online.

Before you do anything, you need to take a look at the different online gambling websites that are available and believe me this could take quite a bit of time. I find it is easier if you try to determine the types of games you want to play first. If you know you want to play poker and slot machines then these are the types of online gambling websites you should look for.

Once you have located a number of them the next thing to look at is what you need to do in order to play. Check to see if they use RTG software which is real time gaming software. See if you need to download software in order to play the games and how big the file is. You should be able to see from the online gaming website some samples of the games and this will let you see how good the graphics are. You don’t want to join an online gambling website and then discover that the graphics are crap.

Once you have these questions answered you will then need to register and deposit some cash. Most registrations are done through the lobby of the online gambling websites and many of these websites operate just like your regular casinos just online. Depositing cash into your online gambling website account should be straightforward and easy and most of the online gambling websites will have a number of ways in which you can do this. The most common methods will include Neteller and Debit and Credit cards.

Once you register and deposit your cash you should also receive a cash bonus. This usually matches the amount your deposit and can be more. This will allow you to try out all the games and most of the online gambling games will have fairly low minimum bets which is great too.

My best advice is to take your time, read all the rules and regulations, bet low, and see what games you prefer. This might take some time but when you win that big jackpot it will be worth it.

Until next time,
