The Irish Open 2010 tournament will take place in Ireland in April and to celebrate this fact Titan Poker has just launched a series of satellite poker events.  These events will help to determine the players that will participate on their behalf in the Irish Open 2010.

The winning players in the weekly Super Satellite tournaments on the Titan Poker website will win a $7,200 prize package.  This prize package includes the $4,996 buy in for the Dublin competition along with five night accommodation at the Burlington Hotel and $1,142 for flights and spending money.

This is an amazing prize and all online players on the Titan Poker website are being invited to take part in the qualifier satellite tournaments.  These tournaments have buy ins that are as low as $2.20 each and in addition to this Titan Poker is also holding weekly Super Satellites every Sunday evening and the buy in for these is just $268.  If you win the qualifier satellite tournaments you can win entry into the Super Satellites too.

The main event of the Irish Open 2010 starts on the 1st of April 2010.  The Irish Poker Open is the longest running no limit Texas hold’em poker tournament in Europe and it is actually the world’s second oldest after the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Titan Poker sent 32 players from around the world to take part in the Irish Winter Festival Poker Tournament which ended recently.  One of these players was Igor Kurganov from Germany and he finished in fifth place and won $51,275.  Two of the other players that attended on behalf of Titan Poker also qualified for cash prizes too.

There is a brand new poker application for the iPhone and iPod Touch called the Pro Poker Log.  This new application will allow players to analyze their poker play in more detail than ever before.  This new application comes courtesy of an American firm called Deep Powder Software.

The Pro Poker Log application will allow its users to record and analyze their previous poker games along with tracking and organising their playing times.  This new poker application will also track and organize location, blinds, rakes and tournament fees.  If that’s not enough, this new poker application will also track the amount of money that you win or lose.

When using this new poker application a player will be able to look at a graph which will show them their progress over a specific period of time and they can also have the statistics emailed to themselves so that they can review them at a later time.  The results are also automatically saved when your device is synchronized with iTunes.

When asked about his new application owner of Deep Powder Software Gordon Craig said that he realised that the only way to become a winning poker player and make any money was to keep a log of his wins, losses and notes from every game.  This way it is easy to analyse how you play and constantly learn from your own style.  It sounds like an amazing application and one that really does make sense.  How often do you play online poker games?  How many times do you win or lose?  How much do you win or lose?  What strategies do you use?  You probably can’t even answer these questions especially not for a specific period of time anyway.  With the new Pro Poker Log application these questions will be a breeze and you will also be able to improve your poker skills.

There is a tutorial page for this new application and it is very simple to use.  If you are a poker player and you want to keep track and improve your game play then this application could be just the think you have been looking for.

A Russian online poker player has just set a brand new world record for the most online poker hands played in one day. This amazing player who goes by the username of innerpsy competed in over 40,000 poker hands in just over 18 and a half hours. Wow that really is a lot of online poker games.

This Russian player did all of this on Saturday the 21st of November and it all took place on the online poker website Poker Stars along with Russian forum Card Game Masters. The event was watch by almost 10,000 fans who all logged in to watch the action unfold as it was being broadcast via two video streams and a live radio broadcast was also available featuring commentary from players including Max Lykov.

The action all started at 8.30am on Saturday the 21st of November Moscow time when innerpsy sat down and started playing and it ended 18 hours and 33 minutes later after he had completed 40,088 hands of poker.

Speaking about his new record innerpsy stated that before this challenge he had never played more than 20,000 hands in a day but he decided to give this a go. He went on to say that this was one of the toughest things he has ever done and that he is so proud of his accomplishment.

As the new record holder he revealed that he has actually only being playing online poker for a couple of years and he is a regular at the Poker Stars website. He went on to say that he has gained a lot of experience through doing this and that he will definitely try it again and try to improve on his results next time round. He stated that one of his main goals is to reach the Supernova Elite status.

This new record has caused quite a stir and already there are players looking to beat him. One player joeingram1 on the Poker Stars website has already revealed that he intends to compete in 50,000 hands of online poker over a 24 hour period and turn a profit while doing so. This challenger has revealed that he intends to use the $0.10/0.25 no limit hold’em or pot limit Omaha tables to do this and he is also planning to allow a webcam follow his progress so that fans can follow.

Seems like online poker is taking a new turn and people are now looking to make records.

Have you ever heard of a bad beat jackpot?  Well one extremely lucky online poker player just bagged themselves the bad beat jackpot courtesy of the IPN International Poker Network after he lost his online poker game.  This lucky online player had a hand of four jacks and was convinced that he would win.  Unfortunately another player revealed four kings which beat him.

Thanks to the bad beat jackpot though, this player actually received €144,473 of the €412,781 jackpot that was up for grabs.  The actual winner of the game only took home €72,236 and the other competitors playing at the table took home €24,078 each.

The winner of the bad beat jackpot used the pseudonym AlkaliEars and he is reported to have said that he was sure his four jacks would win the game and that his heart sank when his opponent revealed that he had four kings.  He then remembered that by losing with such a good hand that he had actually won the bad beat jackpot.

The International Poker Network is Europe’s largest independent poker network.  It is operated by GTech G2 which also includes some of the most popular online poker websites including VirginPoker.com, PokerHeaven.com, and Casino-Club.com.  It also hosts regular one million Euro tournaments.  The current bad beat jackpot is now already over €90,000 and after the publicity that AlkaliEars received I’m sure plenty of players will be queuing up to get their hands on it.

The bad beat jackpot was designed to help ease the frustration of players when they lost with a great hand and it seems to have done the trick.  In order to be in with a chance of winning it though the requirement is that you have a quad of sixes or more.  In order to qualify for the bad beat jackpot you must be playing at a designated bad beat table and use both pocket cards in their winning or losing hand.  In addition to this, the losing hand also has to have four of a kind and be sixes or better.  There must also be four players in the hand.

If this sounds good to you and it does me then you should get logged into IPNpoker.com right away.

Online gambling websites have seen huge success rates over the years and this is mainly due to the fact that online gambling is so easy and readily accessible. Most online gambling websites and online casinos offer their players great incentives to play including enormous bonuses every time they deposit money into their accounts.

Another reason for the huge success of these online gambling websites is that they are available 24 hours a day seven days a week and you can log on from the comfort of your own home and play whenever you like. Whilst this has added to the popularity of these online gambling websites it has also lead to more and more reports of gambling addictions and warnings being issued about safe gambling.

Online casinos are probably the most popular type of websites when it comes to online gambling. The main reason for this is the fact that they offer a wide range of gambling games including poker, blackjack, roulette, slots, and much more. Most of the online versions of these games are very similar to the games you find in real casinos. Most of these online casinos also use the very latest in graphics and software technology to help produce the feeling of being in a real live casino.

Online casinos also hold tournaments where players get to interact with each other and this also helps to take away the feeling of isolation or playing alone as you get to play against different people from all over the world.

It seems like there is very little to go against these online gambling websites and I’m sure their popularity is set to increase even further with more and more new online gambling websites launching daily. What the future holds for the online gambler is yet to be seen but I’m sure it will be something that will stay popular for a very long time.

Texas Holdem is one of the most popular online poker versions that people play in online casinos today. Like most other poker variations Texas Holdem gets its appeal from the strategic challenge that is involved in playing the game. Most online Texas Holdem poker players get deeply immersed in their game as they try to sort out and analyse the best possible outcomes they can achieve whilst still searching for the best Texas holdem strategy that will allow them to win.

Your objective when playing online Texas Holdem poker is to get a high hand that will allow you to win he pot. You will start out with only two cards and build your hand up from here. Playing online Texas holdem involves carefully studying the available cards that you have and that are in the deck to help you to determine the possibility of getting the right cards. You will also need to study the other players cards which will be face up and take these into consideration too when determining your strategy.

When it comes to betting in online Texas holdem it can get very intense. You can expect to see many blind bets being made during the course of the game. These seemingly blind bets can be very useful tactics when playing online poker tournaments and many players will consider them to be very effective.

The recent surge in popularity of Texas holdem poker could be put down to the great deal of media coverage that it received. Online casinos are also another reason with more and more online casinos coming on stream all the time. You can even get downloadable versions of the game to help you learn the basics and develop your own strategies. Online forums are also a great place to learn some tips and strategies and because of the constant Texas holdem poker conversations being held it is no wonder that its popularity has soared.

Texas holdem tournaments draw the biggest crowds and many of these tournaments are televised. Online casinos also have tournaments and they offer high stakes and jackpots which helps to add to the allure of the game.

If this sounds like the game for you then I suggest that you read as much as you can about the rules and strategies needed before you place any bets with real money.

Video poker is extremely popular in the online gambling scene. It is very similar to the arcade version of poker and the challenge of the game is still the same. With online video poker you can play on your own or with other gamers.

The game starts when you place a bet and hit the deal button. You will then be given a hand of cards and asked whether or not your want to retain or discard any two of your cards. You can take two additional cards from the virtual pack and the computer software will then determine whether or not you have won anything.

To make things a little more exciting, online video poker does have several variations on the standard poker game. The most popular variation is the Tens or better game. There are also a large number of betting options that you can choose from. If you are playing jacks or better payoffs are only calculated when you get a pair of jacks or higher so you need to brush up on your strategies to get the best return.

Video poker is a fast game and great for those who don’t have a lot of time to spend playing. The games are all automatic and all the cards are electronically generated. Payouts differ in all online casinos so be sure to check out the online casino you are playing at to see what type of online poker games they offer and what their payouts are like.

Online poker is one of the most popular methods of online gambling but like all online gambling you need to see this as fun and not a means of earning money.

There are a number of different poker tournament types and the aim of this post is to explain them further.

There are some poker tournaments that only focus on one version of poker whilst others may consist of a series of events with each part being a variant of a different type of poker which you will play during the course of the tournament. Texas Holdem is one of the most common poker games that you will find in these tournaments.

Poker tournaments can also vary in their formats too. The most common is the elimination type of game. In this type of tournament all the players are given the same number of chips to start with and whatever amount they lose will then be deducted from their initial amount continuing until they have no chips left and they are eliminated. The last player that remains is the winner.

The above tournament format is very fast paced and as players are eliminated the remaining players become more aggressive in their strategies and betting. The player that survives and wins gets all the chips and their corresponding cash value. There are some consolation prizes too.

Another great tournament format is the rebuy tournament. This allows players to purchase additional chips so that they can remain in the tournament and prevent elimination. The prospect of getting big cash prizes means that many players will prefer this tournament format. This format of online poker tournament is also very unpredictable as players can rejoin the game even if they are eliminated.

Shootout tournaments are the last format that I want to explain. These are more like traditional tournament styles. This tournament uses an elimination style but the players are divided into several tables. Each table plays until only one person remains then the last remaining player from each table then playing it out in a final round. This tournament format is the fastest and tournaments can be over in less than a few hours.

If you plan on playing online poker and would like to become involved in some of the online poker tournaments then the above information should help you to decide what type of tournament is best for you and your poker skills.

It is often too easy for newbie online poker players to get over excited when they first join a Texas holdem poker tournament. This is a big mistake because then they don’t take the opportunity to plan their game. If you want to be in with a chance of advancing in these types of tournaments then there are a few things that you need to keep in mind and this post will explain.

The first and probably the most important thing to consider has to be how to play the cards you are dealt. The most common mistake that most newbies make is playing too may hands because they assume that by having more options they will have a better chance of winning the round. This might be true but it doesn’t help a newbie to develop their strategy which is something that you should be focusing on.

New players need to be selective in the hands they play and you need to play only that hands that give you the highest chance of winning. You also need to consider the position you are in during the round to determine which hand you will play. As the betting button is rotated throughout each round the betting order will also therefore change and there will be times when other players will get to bet ahead of you and this can give you the upper hand as you get to see their actions first before deciding what you want to do. There will also be times when you will be first to bet so you need to be able to choose a safe hand for this one.

Putting too much weight on the suited cards is another mistake that newbies tend to make as is the fear of being aggressive players. You don’t have to be intimidated just because you are new and aggressive play can have its advantages so use it.

These are just a few tips to help you get started in online poker tournaments.

If you intend to play online poker and you want to win then here are some tips to help you out. The first and most important tip that I can give you when it comes to playing online poker is to be focused. When playing online you can’t see the expressions on the other player’s faces so you really do have to focus and rely on your skills.

You need to make sure that when you are playing online poker that you don’t let anything distract you. Don’t be tempted to browse other websites while you are waiting between hands because you need to be able to pay attention to the betting patterns of the players.

The next tip that I can give you is to make sure that you are alert and awake. It is so tempting to log on and play during the early hours of the morning but just remember that your brain will not be as alert as it should be and this makes it easier for you to lose your money. If you intend playing in the morning then I would suggest that you have a shower and wake up properly first. If it is night time then you need to ensure that you are not too tired. A good meal can help to keep you alert during your online poker gaming too.

If you don’t have a lot of time to play then I suggest that you play the cash games and not the tournaments as these take much longer. If you don’t know how much time you will have to play without being interrupted then cash games are much better. These games are easy in and easy out unlike tournaments where you won’t want to leave in the middle of the game.

Whilst these tips are skill or strategy tips I do feel that they really are worth mentioning. All the skill and strategies in the world won’t help you to win if you body and brain are not up to the job or if there are countless distractions.
