If you are an online poker player and a facebook user then you can now get the best of both worlds. Fans of poker can now enjoy this great game on Facebook thanks to the British social games developer Playfish Limited who has released their new Poker Rivals application for Facebook. This new application is still in beta testing mode but it looks like it is going to be very popular and very successful.
Playfish Limited is a London based company and they were recently bought by Electronic Arts for almost $400 million and they are now testing things out with the Poker Rivals application. There is a Texas Hold’em Poker application from a rival developer Zynga that has been very successful so I am sure this new application will do just as well.
The new Poker Rivals application is still be tested and when players use this application they will use a virtual version of themselves and compete at poker while still being able to enjoy some social activities. There are talks of additional features being added as the development progresses but even so Poker Rivals already comes complete with some great features including the ability for players to purchase things with their winnings. Players can also decorate their avatars and even animate their character throughout the game. Playfish really have gone all out with their Poker Rivalas application and they are set to take Texas hold’em poker to a whole new level.
It doesn’t matter whether you are new to Texas Hold’em poker or a regular player you will love this new design. You can play on the tables with your friends or try your hand one of the tournaments and then show everyone just what you are made of by buying new clothes and accessories with your winnings.
Veteran players can hit the tables right away and beginners will have the option to learn everything they need to know using the Poker Rivals tutorial. This new application is going to be huge and I can’t wait to see what it has in store. I will keep you informed as I hear more.
Until next time,
Gamble Wisely
