Annual People's Choice Awards winners, the year's brightest and best, are determined through voting by ordinary viewers, this year - for the first time by Internet voting, as opposed to a Gallup poll. The new procedure was criticised by some observers, because it may has led to a less scientific determination of the people's favourites, as fans could vote for their personal preferences more than once.
